Morgan and True

Morgan and True

When I saw True’s photo as a yearling, something about how she held herself spoke to me. Curious, kind, brave, and beautiful- even as a kiddo. I drove 4 hours to Montrose, CO to meet her the next weekend, and all that was confirmed. I brought umbrellas, bubbles, pool noodles; hula hoops, a pinwheel…. And despite not being handled much before then, she was curious and fearless! She’s a left-brain dominant and introverted horse so I’ve had to learn new techniques in working with her (such as trick training) and I’ve grown so much as a rider and in my horsemanship because of her. She’s different from horses I had known and worked with before, and my friends and family joke that we are a perfect match since- being an engineer- I’m a left-brain introvert too. She loves riding, tricks, and snuggling with her human family. I hope when she is old enough, she will want to share her joy with others by doing equine therapy with me, but that choice will always be hers to make. I’m excited to see where she takes us both as she grows up. - Morgan
